Mandy’s Queenstown landscape paintings were illuminated onto the historic Post Office, highlighting how art, history, architecture and landscape can come together for the enjoyment of the community. Confirming a strong sense of identity, a connection to Queenstown’s iconic landscape and the knowledge that belonging comes in many forms.

On October 16-17th 2020, a community art event was created by Queenstown’s artists and galleries and The Unconformity to celebrate all things Queenie. Belonging, a temporary digital light installation, was Mandy’s contribution to this spontaneous, artistic weekend.

In conversation with Mandy Hunniford and Tasmanian Aboriginal Centre representative, Annie Reynolds and Midlands farmer and land conservationist, Julian von Bibra at the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston Held in the Portrait of Colonial Tasmania gallery this conversation was in response to Mandy’s exhibition The Midlands: Whimsy and Pathos shown at the QVMAG.

Set against the backdrop of contested pastoral landscape Mandy’s exhibition, The Midlands: Whimsy and Pathos , examines the Midlands as a site of sorrow and beauty.

In Memoriam – A large scale projection of the painting In Memoriam – Mt. Lyell Mine Disaster 1912  will be projected onto the wall behind the Galley Museum on the eve of the centenary of the mine disaster. The projection will be shown on the 12th and 13th of October with the support of the Queenstown Heritage and Arts Festival,
