NEW PAINTING FOR LGH SESQUICENTENARY ART EXHIBITION IN MAY

New painting for an art exhibition curated by Paul Richards as part of the LGH’s Sesquicentenary (150 years) celebrations next month. The group exhibition will be held  in The Atrium, Northern Intergrated Care Service, Frankland Street, Launceston 12 – 19 April amd will be opened by Labor MP Michelle O’Byrne. Participating artists were invited on a tour of the LGH and then asked to interpret their experience for the exhibition. Viewing the morgue and hearing about the two men that work there inspired this painting and the discovery that the word morgue comes from the French word la morgue which translates as, “to look at solemnly” which gives the painting it’s title.
