About the artwork:
Shimmer (Lavender and Cream)
A old oak tree planted in 1881, watches over vast fields of shimmering lavender. In December every year 650,000 lavender plants flower at Nabowla in north-east Tasmania. The hills of brilliant purple are framed by verdant, green bushland and set against a creamy summer sky.
About The Field collection:
Pockets of quilted farmland scattered through rural Tasmania, show a rich and sustaining land that provides and nourishes. The lush farmland is an explosion of earthy colours in spring when the fields are planted and flourish in rich, volcanic soil.
