About the artwork:

The Midlands Garden 7

Exhibited: The Midlands: Whimsy and Pathos by Mandy Hunniford, Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery, Launceston in 2019.

The aridness of the protracted dry spells in the Midlands, contrasts starkly with the lush splendour of the domestic gardens of the colonial homesteads scattered throughout the area.

Recent irrigation schemes have now altered some parts of the Midlands into lush, farming ground. Funded initiatives for farmers to commit to conservation activities has protected small pockets of threatened natural wildlife and landscapes.

About The Midlands collection:

Set against the backdrop of the contested pastoral landscape, the Midlands artwork explores various themes such as colonial exploration, land degradation, privilege and whimsy.

About the print on canvas:

Each canvas is hand-stretched over a kiln-dried timber frame and coated with Aquathane-UV liquid laminate. This ensures the prints are fade-resistant, durable, and easy to clean. Print comes on premium archival canvas and printed with genuine Canon inks to guarantee the prints are made to the highest standard.

Please note – actual size may vary, size indicates maximum width or height (eg portrait or landscape).
